The Time of the Gentiles Nears Its End

“And they (the Jewish people) shall fall by the sword, and shall be led away captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled” (Luke 21:24).
Jesus spoke the above words regarding Israel shortly before His death. In AD70 these words were partially fulfilled when Rome invaded Israel and destroyed the temple. Many of the Jews were killed, or led away captive, with some being scattered throughout the known world. Israel, at that time ceased to exist as a nation.
Fast forward almost 2000 years and we find the Jews back in their land as of May of 1948. This return of the jews to their homeland after almost 2000 years is unprecedented in history. This has never happened! Never has a nation reformed on the same land, as the same people, after such a long period of time.
This is an important happening because it was prophesied by the Lord in the Bible and is one of the major signs from the Lord that the end of all things is at hand. The Bible refers to this time as the end time and it will bring great destruction and death in what is known as the seven year period of the Great Tribulation. The end of this seven years will herald in the return of Christ in The Second Coming.
“…Now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Today, the Lord is calling out to all those that dwell on the Earth through his Word and the prophecies He has given us as signs and warnings of this time of catastrophic events and worldwide suffering and death. We are quickly approaching this time that will bring judgment on the world, It will be a time of destruction and death unequaled in our history from the time of beginning. The Lord said, “And except those days be shortened, there should no flesh be saved..”
Millions will die during this time as the Lord’s final judgment comes on a Christ rejecting world. The church will have been taken out prior to this time at the Rapture and will not go through the Great Tribulation. To serve the Lord during this time will cost millions their lives due to the rise of evil that will prevail after the church is taken out. Satan will wreak havoc and destruction through his man of sin, the Antichrist. The Second coming of the Lord is the only thing that will stop the judgment and death that will sweep throughout the world.
At the time of Noah, the people watched as Noah labored for some 100 years to build the ark. He was a preacher of righteousness warning those alive at the time of the coming judgment. Outside of his family, not one person heeded his warnings. In Matthew 24 the Lord said this of the people of this time, “For in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and given in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark.” The Lord was not against them caring out the normal functions of life, but was pointing out that they were living their lives without any regard for the Lord and His ways.
The Lord goes on in the next verse and speaks of the result of what happened to them due to their total disregard for Him, and says that people living in our time will have a similar disregard for the things of the Lord. He said, “And (they) knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be (the Second Coming).” The Lord warned about these times, the end times, since his first advent nearly 2000 years ago. We are swiftly approaching these times. The signs of these approaching times can be clearly seen today. The Lord came as a savoir on His first advent; He is coming to judge this world at His Second Coming. The following verse shows us God’s heart toward us:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
As the above well known verse tells us, God loves us and sent his Son to die for the sin of mankind on a cruel Cross . It is not His wish that any should perish. He asks only that we repent of our ways and accept the gift of eternal life that cost Him so much to provide for us. His death on the Cross paid the price for the redemption of us all.
The Lord has warned us of what is coming by the end time prophecies He has given us. He Has told us that a time of Judgment will come just as it did at the time of the flood. He also said few will regard the warnings just as those at the time of Noah ignored his warnings. Why is that? Jesus said “ Because strait is the gate and narrow the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.” As has been mentioned, outside of Noah and His family, none of those living at the time of the flood came to the Lord in repentance and faith. Down through the ages the Lord’s people have been a minority (few there be), but the Lord continues to graciously hold out His hand offering mercy and grace to whosoever will come.
“The time of the Gentiles” is coming to a close
If we were to be honest regarding the times we are living in now; we can certainly agree that most of those living today are going about their daily lives with little regard for the Lord or the prophetic warnings He has given regarding the soon to come judgment on all those that have rejected His love and offer of eternal life. We look back in wonder at the fact that those living in the time of Noah didn’t heed his warning though he preached and warned them for 100 years. But, we are also without excuse, for we have had many specific prophecies warning us about the end of days for 2000 years; some coming directly from the Lord Himself while He was with us. All the prophecies the Lord has given to us in the Bible have been fulfilled with 100% accuracy; except the end time prophecies. They wait to be fulfilled in the near future; and fulfilled they will be. That time will soon come upon the world and we need to prepare.
We prepare by making sure we are in right relationship with the Lord. As has been mentioned, Those that are the Lord’s will be taken out and will not go through the tribulation. If you do not know the Lord today, wont you come to Him in repentance and faith. He died on the Cross for you. He waits with open arms to receive whosoever will come to him in this time of grace.
“And the Spirit and the Bride say, come. And let him who hears, come. And let him is athirst (spiritual thirst) come, and whosoever will, let him take the Water of Life freely“ Revelation 22:17).
