Do You Have Life Assurance?

Don’t Leave This World Without It!

Covered with the Blood of the Lamb

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul” (Mark 8:36).

Our soul is eternal and will live forever. It is more valuable than anything the world can offer. The Lord has given us free will and we will choose where we will spend eternity. That’s right; we will choose! Just as we have life insurance to protect our loved ones; we need to have life or soul assurance to guarantee that we spend eternity in the right place. There is a financial commitment to acquire life insurance, and there is a spiritual commitment to guarantee life eternal with the Lord.

Just as a life insurance policy has all the terms laid out for us; the Lord has laid out His terms for our life assurance in a document called The Bible. So, how can we make sure that we have eternal life? How can we attain this life assurance? The following verse tells us the way:

“These things have I written unto you who believe on the Name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life and that you may believe on the Name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:13).

As 1 John 5:13 proclaims; we can be assured that we have eternal life with The Lord. With life insurance, we purchase it to be insured. With life assurance, it was purchased for us by the Lord Jesus Christ at the cross. He paid the price owed for our sins so that we might have the assurance that we will be with Him in eternity. The Lord’s terms and conditions are spelled out clearly in His Word. The Book of Romans tells us what we must do:

“That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart, man believes unto Righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9,10).

So faith is our way to life assurance. It cost the Lord greatly to provide this for us. Some would say that just as we must purchase life insurance, we must do our part in gaining eternal life with the Lord. But what could we possibly add to what the Lord provided for us at Calvary? No, we must come in repentance, empty-handed, just as we are, to a God that loves us and proved that love by leaving His home in glory and coming to die on a cruel cross. This is the way to the blessed assurance that we have eternal life with Him. Jesus says this clearly in the following verse:

“…I am come that they (whosoever will come) might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Jesus is the source of this “life” and he offers it freely to all those that come to Him by faith. Life assurance, cannot be purchased by the works that we do. We cannot attain it by the good in our life outweighing the bad. The terms and conditions have been set forth by the Lord in His Word. Salvation is freely given to all those that come in repentance for their sins and faith in Christ and Him crucified. Those are the requirements of the Lord and we should praise Him each day for the wonderful salvation He has provided for us.

“This is the Lord’s doing (i.e. salvation); it is marvelous in our eyes” (118:23).

Most would agree that life insurance is something everyone should have. However, assuring that our soul will spend eternity with the Lord is something many do not seek out to make sure their covered – covered by the Precious Blood of Jesus. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. Today is the day of salvation. Life assurance is available right now and comes from the Lord. Where we spend eternity is something we must get right!

“In Whom we have Redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to riches of his Grace (unmerited favor)” (Ephesians 1:7).

“And this is the promise that He has promised us, even Eternal Life” (1 John 2:25).

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God. Born of His Spirit, washed in His Blood. This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long.
