There Is A Path, Although Narrow, That Leads To God

“And you shall seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” ( Jeremiah 29:13).
Seeking the Lord is a less traveled road. Many travel the road of self-discovery through various activities and efforts that lead them nowhere. We cannot find the answers to important questions we have as we walk out this life without the Lord. What is my purpose? Why am I here? If there is a God? What does He expect from us? These are all valid questions and the Lord has anticipated our desire to have answers regarding these and has provided them.
However, we must seek the Lord on His terms and not ours. We will not find the Lord if we look for Him in religion. Religion is man approaching God by works or laws that he follows. God is not there! Many have gone this way and ended up in Hell. We cannot know Him through our efforts as sincere as they may be. Our good lives are admirable, but they will not result in our spending eternity with the Lord. Some say that we cannot know God, so we should just live the life that we think is best. They are deceived. We can know God. There is a road we can travel where He walks with us, but many do not search for it with all their heart so they walk this road of life alone.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, But according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5).
When we come to the Lord by way of repentance for our sins and faith we are regenerated by the cleansing of the Blood of Jesus shed for us on the cross. His work on the cross paid the sin debt owed. The Holy Spirit then comes and abides in us, and by faith in Christ and His great work at the cross; the Holy Spirit helps us walk out a life pleasing to the Lord. The Bible says “few are those that find it.” Why few? Because pride gets in the way of many from coming to the Lord. The draw of the world and the lies of the devil keep others away.
Those that do find God have done so by going His way. When we seek Him with all our heart; He has promised that we will find Him. He does this through His Word. His Word shows us our true lost condition without the Lord. We are sinful and in need of a savior. Once we realize this; the path to the Lord becomes clear. We can know the Lord through faith in His great sacrifice on the cross. He gave His life so that we might be forgiven and be born from above (born again). Christianity is a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ; not a religion.
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:14).
The Bible says it’s a narrow way and few find it. The reason for this is that the Lord has made one Way only that leads to life. We cannot divert from this Way as it is a straight way that the Lord provides. We must go this way and remain on the straight path (by faith) to both know the Lord, walk with him daily, and to spend eternity with Him. Jesus put it this way:
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6).
So, we come to the Lord by repentance and faith in Christ and Him crucified and are born again. We enter a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus and maintain that relationship by placing our faith in Jesus and the cross on a daily basis. This allows the Holy Spirit to come into our lives and help us to walk out a life pleasing to the Lord. The Christian life, the life of knowing God, is by faith from first to last.
“For therein (by the cross) is the Righteousness of God (being right with God) revealed from faith (God provides) to faith (we receive): as it is written, The just shall live by faith (through faith from first to last)” (Romans 1:17)
