His Mercies Are New Every Morning

But God, Who is rich in Mercy, for His great love for us, even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ, (by Grace you are saved) (Ephesians 2:4,5).
The Mercy of God was there for all to see at the Cross. The Father loved us and sent His Son to die on the Cross to rescue us from our fallen nature. We were on our way to Hell, but Mercy said no. We could not lift ourselves out of the sin nature that we were all born into. We were helpless and we were enemies of God. His love for us shown forth through the Cross in a hand extended to us in Mercy. We were captives of Satan, the “god of this world,” and dead in our sins. The Lord, however, did not leave us in our lost state – His Mercy said no and reaching down saved us through the sacrificial death of His Son.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
The Lord suffered at Calvary for us. Our sin put Him on the Cross. His suffering brought about the redemption of all those that realize just how much He has done for us in His atoning death. His death on the Cross was a display of God’s Mercy towards a wayward world. His death brought healing both physically, and most importantly, spiritually. Upon placing our faith in His great work at Calvary we are healed of the terrible scourge of sin and released from the prison of our fallen nature.
As our introductory verse tells us, we were dead in sins, but the Lord has quickened us together with Christ. Through faith in Christ’s death and Resurrection we are give Grace, unmerited favor, and we now walk in it by placing our faith in Christ and Him crucified, daily. We were spiritually baptized into His death, buried with Him by baptism into death, and raised up with Him to walk in “Newness of Life.” His Mercy in our lives resulted in our being born spiritually and becoming the children of God.
The Bible tells us that the Lord’s Mercy will never end. His love for us will be there for us all our days as we walk out this life. We can count on the Lord and His Grace to see us through. In this life we will experience troubles, but the Lord has told us that He will be with us and see us through. His love for us and His unending Mercy in our lives open the door to all the goodness of the Lord. When we look back on our lives prior to coming to the Lord, we see just how much He has done for us and realize just how helpless we were in our unsaved state. We were headed for an eternity away from the presence of the Lord, but the Lord reached down and His Mercy said no. We are in need of His Mercy towards us every day, In our closing verse, He assures us that His Mercies are new every morning – Great is His faithfulness!
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His Mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22,23).
Prayer Changes Things
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the Righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers…” (1 Peter 3:12).
The Lord hears our prayers and is faithful to answer.
Always Remember,
God Loves You!
